My name is Emily Seal and I’m so honored and excited to be serving the families of The Gathering Place as the GatherKids Coordinator! One of my deepest passions that I feel so blessed to be able to cultivate is working with children and their important perspectives, unique interests, and all that goes into their development. My goal in this position is to provide a safe, fun, and effective place for these children to experience the love and grace of God in themselves and with each other. 

I am originally from Lafayette, Louisiana where I volunteered for almost 10 years in the children’s ministry at Trinity Bible Church, the church I grew up in. I am beyond grateful for my time volunteering there and for all I learned from the kids, the leaders, and from God. It was truly a formative experience! I attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where I got my bachelor’s degree in Biology (specifically Ecology, which is another one of my passions!)

My husband Paul and I moved to Daytona Beach in August 2025 when he got accepted into the Human Factors Master’s program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. I am pursuing an Elementary Education teaching certification through Daytona State College with the goal of being fully certified in December 2026! We found The Gathering Place shortly after arriving and loved it so much so we decided to make it our new church home!  

In my free time, I love reading, running, bird-watching, doing crossword puzzles, and playing with one (or multiple) of our 4 cats. Paul and I love to kayak, camp, hike, or really do anything that involves playing outside!
