    Where are you?

    The Gathering Place is located at 518K Fentress Blvd. Daytona Beach, FL inside Liberty Business Park.

    Office hours are M-Thurs from 10am-2pm. Reach out to marmistead@firstunited.org if you’d like to make an appointment during the week.

    We’re located between LPGA (near Tanger Outlets) and International Speedway, just minutes from the Race Track.

    What should I wear to church?

    One of our mottos is: “come as you are!” and we mean it. Some folks wear shorts and a t-shirt while others may wear skirts and dresses/business casual. Wear what you feel most comfortable!

    Is The Gathering Place open and affiriming?

    Yes! We are open and affirming of LGBTQ+ folks and believe in the sacred worth of ALL people. Our mission statement says “welcome everybody” and we believe that entails full participation in the church regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender, socio-economic status, or ability. We strive to practice Jesus’ example of unconditional love without exclusion.

    What about kids?

    Kids are always welcome in our services, but we also know that kids can experience faith formation in an environment geared to their age and development.

    We have a nursery available every Sunday for kids 3 years and under.

    Kid’s ministry for Pre-K to Elementary aged kids.

    Youth Group is every other Wednesday from 6:00pm-7:30pm at The Gathering Place

    Is The Gathering Place a part of a denomination?

    The Gathering Place is a United Methodist community! We are connected to First UMC Ormond Beach and we call ourselves “The First United Family.”

    We celebrate communion every week! In the UMC, ALL are welcome at God’s table.

    The United Methodist Church forms disciples of Jesus Christ who, empowered by the Holy Spirit, love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously in local communities and worldwide connections

    What about music?

    The Gathering Place has an awesome worship team made up of talented musicians and vocalists (and we’re always looking for more!)

    Our worship style is modern, but we integrate gospel, folksy hymns, and more into our services.
