We will be worshipping as a First United Family on Sunday May 19th. Florida's Bishop Tom Berlin will be leading us in worship. Lite refreshments and Q&A after worship.

Tortugas Game May 22
Join us on May 22 at 6:30pm for a Daytona Tortugas game! Tickets are $10 per person which includes all you can eat hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn, and Little Caesar’s pizza.

Neighbor to Family Info Session
Volusia & Flagler Counties are in need for more Foster families and emergency placements. Do you feel a tug on your heart to serve children in temporary need of a safe shelter? Join us on May 2nd from 6:30-8pm for an Information Session with Neighbor to Family, an organization that is intentional about keeping siblings together and reunifying families.

What makes The Gathering Place unique is our commitment to gathering differently. We understand that there are many people who would never step foot in a traditional church building, but are still longing for hope and belonging.
Kayaks & Communion is the chance to experience the beauty of God's creation IN God's creation. The church doesn't have to look like a building with steeples and pews. Sometimes it looks like a group of folks wanting to learn more about Jesus on kayaks, paddle boards, and pontoon boats.

Maundy Thursday at Barracks of Hope
Maundy Thursday is the day we remember Jesus' Last Supper with his disciples. It's when he not only commanded us to love one another, but showed us how to do it. He humbled himself and washed his friend's feet. In the spirit of loving abundantly, The Gathering Place is spending Maundy Thursday serving a meal to our neighbors at the Barracks of Hope now located at: 962 Derbyshire Rd, Daytona Beach, FL 32117
We will be serving approximately 20 residents and eating WITH them.
Please Sign up for a dish/ingredient and plan to arrive at 4:30 for meal set up with your portion already prepared. Dinner will be served at 5pm.
Palm Sunday Prayer Stations
Join us on Sunday March 24 for an interactive prayer experience! 10am-11:15am
We will have several different prayer stations for all ages to participate in that help us journey through Holy Week. This is an opportunity to center your heart on why this week is so important to our faith. Our prayer is that you will find this meaningful and helpful for your spiritual life.
There will still be music, a brief message, and communion. Bring your family or some friends. We hope to see you there!
Easter Egg Hunt at Westside Elementary
Join us for our annual Easter Egg Hunt at Westside Elementary! Saturday, March 23 from 1pm-3pm. We will have age-level egg hunts, inflatables, crafts, snacks, and more!
F.A.I.T.H. Justice Action Assembly
Every year F.A.I.T.H. holds their Action Assembly. This is a public event to which all F.A.I.T.H. congregations, the public, and the media, are invited. The Action Assembly is the most important night of the year for our Justice ministries. It is when F.A.I.T.H. congregations recreate Nehemiah's "Great Assembly" in scripture by gathering the community together to address public leaders and ask them to act on issues of injustice in Volusia County.
This year, we will specifically work towards flooding relief and affordable housing.
Please bring or invite 3 people so that we can increase our people power!
Ash Wednesday
Join us for an Ash Wednesday service starting with a special soup supper potluck. We will be meeting at 6:00pm in the Multipurpose Room at First United Methodist Ormond Beach. After supper we will have a service including communion and have impositions of ashes. If you can bring soup, please sign up here

Ashes to Go & A Cup of Joe
Come drop by Ormond Beach's Biggby's Coffee Shop from 7-9am to receive ashes and a cup of joe! First 50 people will receive a free cup of coffee on us.
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent, the 40 days leading up to Easter. It is a chance to acknowledge our humanity and bear the mark of love. A perfect way to start out Valentine's Day!

Super Serve Sunday

Super Serve Sunday at First United is a community-focused event where volunteers come together to engage in various service activities, contributing to the well-being of the local community.
Care Bags for the Homeless
Help us support our local homeless and the cold night shelter. We are collecting donations from this Amazon Wish List to make care bags during our Super Serve Sunday event on February 11th. You can purchase the items off the Amazon wish list linked below and send them directly to the church or buy items from local stores and bring them to the church office.

Pie Potluck
The Gathering Place leadership made a goal to reach $60,000 in giving in 2023, and we have met AND surpassed that goal! Pastor Amy has agreed to get a pie in the face if we reached this benchmark, and she's making good on her promise. But why should Amy have all the fun? On Sunday January 28th, we'll celebrate with a Pie Potluck at our 10am worship service. Bring your favorite pie (homemade or store-bought) or dessert item to share with our Gathering Place church family.
Christmas Eve
Join us for a message of hope on Christmas Eve at 10am or 5pm for our Candlelight Service.
Each service will have a different message, so you’re welcome to join us for both at The Foundry (located 728 Fentress Blvd Daytona Beach, FL)
Carols at Tangos
Join us for an evening of Christmas carols presented by The Gathering Place.
We’re partnering with Tangos in Ormond Beach to offer your family a festive night of food & fun!
The restaurant will be open regular business hours from 11-9pm.
Music begins at 6pm until 8pm. Tangos take reservations for parties of 6 or more.

Our next Kayaks & Communion is on Sunday November 19th from 9:00am-11am. Please reserve your kayak/canoe by the Thursday beforehand.

If you have one, we encourage you to bring your own Kayak, paddle board, or canoe! There is a small fee to enter Tomoka State Park. Please arrive by 8:45am at Tomoka Outpost located in Tomoka State Park. Worship service will begin at 9am, kayaking begins at 9:45 am.
For those not interested in kayaking or canoeing, we will have a pontoon boat available for folks to sit and enjoy, but you must sign up beforehand.

Friendsgiving
Join us on Wednesday November 15th at 6:30pm for a church-wide Friendsgiving potluck! Chicken will be provided, but bring a side dish, casserole, drinks, or sweet treat!
We'll be assembling our Thanksgiving day baskets for the Volusia County Basket Brigade.

Pet Blessing
It's Bring Your Pet to Church Sunday!
Join us for outdoor worship on Sunday November 12th at 10am. Make sure to bring a lawn chair and bring your leashed pet or a picture/memento of deceased or living pet who may not like crowds!

Justice Ministry Workshop
Are you passionate about mental health, affordable housing, flooding, and other topics that impact our local community but aren't sure how to make a difference? Join us on Sunday September 17th after worship for a lite lunch and an opportunity to hear from FAITH Volusia, interfaith, Congregation-based Community Organization that addresses issues that impact local citizens.
